Epic Games a lancé la première compétition officielle pour cet été : les Fortnite Summer Skirmish Series. Cette compétition est séparée en huit semaines et 8 millions de dollars de cashprize. Quatre éditions ont déjà été jouées.

Les meilleurs joueurs de chaque région ont reçu des invitations par Epic Games afin de participer à l'événement. La compétition sera retransmise sur les différentes chaînes Twitch des joueurs, et Epic Games assurera un multiplex en naviguant de chaîne en chaîne.

Huit parties seront jouées en duo par les joueurs. L'objectif est de réaliser un maximum d'éliminations, bien que les top 1 rapportent également des points. Les points des joueurs seront additionnés et les meilleurs duos à l'issue des huit parties remporteront un cashprize.

→ Top 1 : kills multipliés par 3 la partie suivante

→ 7 kills ou + : kills multipliés par 2 la partie suivante
